5 DAYS – 5 STATES

.

.

Some trips talk about mad stories. We are not talking about “Into the wild” movie or something like that, but i thik it’s crazy enough.

The protagonist of this story is an Italian who made a crazy plan: visiting ALL european countries. On february 2018 he was on a flight-offers website and he set the following search: from MILANO to EVERYWHERE. The webpage gave an interesting result: Luxembourg for 15 euro. The trip is planned, but… no return flight! I decided to come back without planes. But it’s not enough: during all the trip the temperature was between -10 and -13 degrees (i think even less at night…).

No baggages: just a little backpack and i went to airport.

Luxembourg City

The flight departs at early morning. Landing in Luxembourg i go out of airport and the first thing i realize is: “XXXX, it’s really cold!”. I only spent one day in Luxembourg: everything is so expensive here! Anyway, the city is cozy and beautifull. I saw the ancient defense made up of kilometres of tunnels (Casemates du Bock), wich lead to the fortress. Then i went to Cheminde la Corniche, one of the nicest balconies of Europe.

Casemates du Bock

At the end of the day i took a bus and went to sleep in the nearest german city

Saarbrücken

I just had a fast walk in late evening and early morning, and then ready to start again.

Darmstadt

I had a stop here. I had a tour and a tasty stop in a brauhaus in center, which produce their self-made beer.

It’s time to go to station. No direct trains to Austria, so i will have a fast stop in München. Watching outside the window i see a lot of snow.

München

It’s my second time here (i have been to Munchen for Oktoberfest in the past) but it’s always nice to visit that wonderfull city.

But it’s cold. It’s really cold! I decide to spend my time in a brauhaus (one of the most famous), and it was a great choice: pork roast , potato dumpling, and a great beer. Honestly, more than one beer… impossible to resist

Bus station is very near, so it’s time for Austria. The bus passes through mountains. The trip is not boring, because the landscape is stunning

Innsbruck

I couldn’t imagine, but this city is real gem. When i came back home i thought: i didn’t spent enough time in Innsbruck. I will come back for sure.

The tour goes on. Another train takes me to the Austria-Liechtenstein border, in the city of Feldkirch.

In the square outside Feldkirch station a sort of urban bus is departing: i run and i take it. I will be in Liechtenstein soon

Vaduz

The bus takes me in the center of Vaduz. I spent half day here. I stayed almost 30 minutes inside the cathedral, people thought i was very religious, but it was very cold outside! 😀 I try to be brave, so i decide to go for a walk in the center.

Next step is Switzerland, but i don’t need any train or bus, because it’s on the other side of the river: i just need to walk on a wood bridge 🙂

Zürich

After the bridge i arrive in Switzerland. I reach the nearest train station, in Sevelen. Direction Zürich. I have the chance to spend some time there

It’s snowing, it’s cold and it’s time to go to station. Finally i take the train that takes me home. I feel cold and tired, but satisfied.
