Ukraine is another ex-USSR country, people still speak both Ukrainian and Russian language, but they are proud of their independence. During my trip, i found the celebrations of the independence day

Kiev
Our apartment had a window on Ploshad Bessarabska, one of the main squares

The wide boulevard Shevchenko leads to the main square, Maidan Nezalezhnosti, that celebrates the independence of Ukraine.

Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, also known as the Kyiv Monastery of the Caves, is an ortodox-christian monastery

Sometimes it’s nice to escape from the classic touristic itineraries. Recently this zone caused a conflict with Russia, but in 2009 i enjoyed some nice beaches in southern Ukraine. I visited Jalta and Alushta.

Nice to know you, Ukraine, maybe we will meet again in future
